It is an exciting time in the needlework industry! The designers have been gearing up for the past several weeks for the Nashville Needlework Market that is happening this weekend. Many of our favorite designers have provided sneak peaks and others are posting photos of everything they will be exhibiting. There is just so much to look at and consider! Where do we even start?
Whether you’re looking for an authentic reproduction sampler or something whimsical and fast, the designers have been hard at work. There really is something new for everyone! Amy Bruecken Designs is releasing several adorable quick to stitch charts. “A Stitch A Day and Be Kind” are sure to be well received and would make fun gifts for a friend. Gigi R is releasing several new reproduction samplers that are noteworthy including “Eladie Jallet 1892” and “Mary Knowles 1824- Finding Moses.” Both of these new releases are stunning and would make excellent additions to a stash! There are unique symbols in “Finding Moses” that I’ve never seen in a sampler before. I look forward to reading up on its history.
Giulia Punti Antichi is releasing a stunning new sewing etui! “A Williamsburg Colonial Sewing Etui” is just delightful! A coordinating needle minder, thread keeper, and pins can also be purchased separately to complete the set. From Lindy Stitches “Project Sticker Plates”, a set of 10 sticker plates, the perfect way for you to remember the personal details on the back of your framed pieces. Such a good idea! Wish I would have thought of it! The Scarlett House, Tanya Brockmeyer, is releasing several new charts including a sweet sampler titled “A Perfect World”. I really love the verse she’s chosen, “In a perfect world, you would find me here. With the Birds and the flowers and the dogs and the deer.” Add to “A Perfect World”, “Berry Merry Christmas”, “On Coverlet Court” and Tanya’s market exclusive “Julia Fletcher 1847”, and I think you will agree her releases are wonderful! This list just barely scratches the surface of all of the wonderful new releases that are headed our way from market. I encourage you to go online or take a trip to your favorite local needlework shop to see what else is available to add to your work basket.
Please don’t forget that this month we have three special events at our regular monthly meeting. We are holding our canned food drive, our silent auction, and the final segment for our “Back to Basics” program! I look forward to seeing everyone.
Until next time, Happy Stitching!
