Thankful Musings

October came and went in a flash and here it is November! This month’s meeting is going to be packed with many fun things for your participation. Thanks to Mother Nature’s crazy snow and ice storm, we had to cancel our October meeting which means, everything planned for October is now incorporated into an already fun and busy November meeting! I say the busier the better!

At November’s meeting we will host our annual Stash Sale, our Program, Back to Basics-Adam and Eve Sampler as designed by Laura Snyder. It features many specialty stitches. There will be sign-ups for both the Christmas Tea for table sponsors or food sponsors. Hospitality will be provided by the Board again this month.

December 9th’s meeting will focus on the Christmas Tea and our always special Ornament Exchange and “Toys for Tots” community service project.

Ornaments must be hand-stitched and wrapped and the toy donations should be unwrapped . Last year we collected one-and-a half donation site boxes (about the size of a small refrigerator) of toys that were delivered to TSG Autos in Parker. The general manager was so inspired by our donations that he used it to challenge his own employees to increase their participation in the Toy drive! I know we can rise to the challenge and more than match what we collected last year! Let’s see if we can fill 2 donation-site boxes this year!

I close by saying thank you to all who work so hard each month to make this Guild exciting and full of positive energy. I am grateful to each of our members who support this organization with their time, talent, and financial investment. I appreciate the efforts of everyone trying to evolve and grow this wonderful organization for the next 25 years.

Until next time, Happy Stitching and Happy Thanksgiving!

Danielle Gavito, President
